These chips allow users to unlock computers, gadgets, doors, and lore more. Moreover, they can also be connected with security and payment systems.

The first person to get an RFID chip successfully implanted in his hand was Kevin Warwick, a cybernetics professor based in the United Kingdom.

  • Cochlear

Cochlear is a medical procedure which involves the implantation of a chip inside the ear nerves. This chip makes use of electrodes in order to translate the sounds into electrical signals directly, which then get received by the brain. While this does not generate a significantly good audio quality, it does allow a person to listen to voices without having to lip read.

  • Electronic tattoos

While electronic tattoos are not implants, they are still considered to be a part of biohacking. This is primarily because they still integrate technology and the human body.
